Integrate Internet and Intranet tools and computer aided techniques into the Learning environment

Focus

Upgrade the IT infrastructure at all the higher learning institutions in the 
country.
Connect them on intranet and internet to provide multiple education services 
within the institution.

Connect Administration/Finance/Faculties/Hostels/Library on High Speed Fiber 

based Campus LAN.
Setting up a digital library, development of content, faculty development and 
exchange of skills.
Enable the university to act as a resource centre and its affiliated colleges
to exchange resources and skills for better quality & world class education.

Pilot Project

Established a State-of-the-art Campus Network at Delhi University at North 
Campus and South Campus with following:

- I/O nodes connected on UTP (eCat5) : 3200
- Optical Fiber laid : 44 km.
- Buildings connected located in the Campus : 55
- Colleges connected : 13
- Hostels connected : 16
- Core Switch at Central locations
- (North & South Campus) : 2 (with redundancy)
- Zonal Switches (at four locations) : 4 Nos.
- Departmental Switches with Gigabit uplinking : 125 Nos.
- Servers (HP Xeon with RAID) : 6 Nos.
- Wireless 802.11b : 5 Nos.

Provided 2 Mbps internet connectivity to the Delhi University Network (North 
and South Campus).
